Day 1 – Arrival in Santa Marta

Arrive in Santa Marta and transfer to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy some free time to rest and prepare for the trek to Ciudad Perdida.

Day 2 – Ciudad Perdida Trek: Stage 1

Begin your journey to Ciudad Perdida and enter the mountainous landscapes of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Follow forest trails through tropical vegetation and rural areas as the trek gradually takes you deeper into the region.

The first stage introduces you to the terrain and natural surroundings that characterize the route to Ciudad Perdida.

Day 3 – Ciudad Perdida Trek: Stage 2

The route becomes more remote as you continue toward the archaeological site.

Day 4 – Ciudad Perdida Trek: Stage 3

Continue the trek toward Ciudad Perdida, following ancient paths through the forest. Enjoy the surrounding landscapes and learn about the cultural and historical significance of the region.

As you approach the archaeological site, the trail leads through increasingly rugged mountain terrain.

Day 5 – Ciudad Perdida Trek: Stage 4

Reach Ciudad Perdida and explore the archaeological site, including its stone terraces and mountain setting. Learn about the history of the ancient Tayrona civilization and the Indigenous communities that continue to have a strong connection with the area.

After the visit, begin the return journey through the mountains before continuing back toward Santa Marta.
